Mounds View ::ity Council September 26, 1988 <br />Regular Meeting Page Four <br />O Motion /Second: Quick /Blanchard to approve Resolution 16. <br />No. 2374, approving the development request by Amoco <br />Oil Company, 2155 Highway Avenue, Planning Case No. <br />241 -88, and waive the readng. <br />5 ayes 0 nays <br />Councilmember Hankner stated she had some comments <br />to make concerning Amoco Oil Company doing business <br />in Mounds View. She stated they could end up in <br />litigation again, and she is not particularly fond <br />of the way they have of working with the City in a <br />less than cooperative way, and their total disregard <br />for the environment. <br />Mayor Linke added their thoughts and needs are <br />strictly for themselves and not the community. He <br />pointed out there is a car wash a half block away, <br />and Amoco could have provided tokens for their <br />customers to go there to wash their cars, rather <br />than building their own facility. <br />Councilmember Wuori explained that as a matter of <br />conscience she had previously made up her mind <br />that she would not offer a motion, or second one, <br />to approve Amoco Oil. She stated she did not care <br />for the way they treated the Planning Commission, <br />as she was present at those meetings and felt the <br />Planning Commissioners were treated shabbily by <br />Amoco Oil. <br />Mayor Linke added he voted for the resolution only <br />because he had to, and there was no recourse <br />available. <br />Attorney Karney had no report. 17. Report of <br />Attorney <br />Councilmember Hankner reported the Blaine League 18. Reports of <br />of Women Voters would be holding a wetlands meeting Councilmembers: <br />on October 4, and people should be made aware of it. Councilmember <br />She also requested Staff get a copy of a wetlands Hankner <br />program aired on Channel 2 the previous evening, as <br />she had missed it but was told it was very good. <br />Clerk /Administrator Pauley replied he would check <br />with them, and would also ask if it was going to be <br />rebroadcast. <br />Councilmember Hankner stated a number of people have <br />made positive comments on street maintenance, with <br />one concern expressed, that at some points, the over- <br />lay is getting high enough to cause water drainage <br />into yards and Jriveways. <br />Consideration <br />of Resolution <br />No. 2374 <br />Motion Carried <br />
