Mounds View City Council rage 6
Regular Meeting May 8, 1995
Mayor Linke asked if this figure included a maintenance
agreement. Mr. Cruikshank responded that it did not include
a maintenance agreement.
MOTION1SECOND: Trude/Quick to Authorize Staff to Enter Into
Lease Arrangement with Mid-America Business Systems for New
Microfilm Machine
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
D. Consideration of Authorization for Staff to Execute a Lease
Agreement with MVAA for Use of Cites Property for the Location
of an MVAA Equipment Storage Building
Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry,
reported that MVAA was a youth baseball association which
approached the City requesting space to build an equipment
storage building. The equipment would include uniforms, bats,
balls, helmets, etc. The Parks and Recreation Commission has
reviewed the request and the City Attorney has drafted a Lease
Agreement that would contain all of the concerns. MVAA has
agreed to fulfill all of the concerns listed in the agreement.
The storage building would be a similar size as a double
garage and would be located east of the Public Works
Maintenance Building with access from Bronson Drive. In the
event MVAA would no longer use the building, it would become
City property.
MOTION1SECOND: Hankner/Quick to Authorize Staff to Execute a
Lease Agreement with MVAA for Use of City Property for the
Location of an MVAA Equipment Storage Building
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
E. Consideration of Authorization for Staff to Purchase Land
Adjoining Groveland Park
Mary Saarion, Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry,
explained that the Newton family had donated much of the land
which is presently Groveland Park. The family has a parcel of
land located just north and west of the park which they now
wish to sell. They approached the City inquiring if the City
would desire to purchase the property. In the past, the
family has always given permission to the City to use that
piece of property as an extension of the park. It is also a
buffer area between the park and adjacent neighborhood homes.
The purchase price of the property is $31,000. There is
presently $25,000 available in the Parkland Acquisition
