Page 7 <br />November 13, 1995 <br />Mounds View City Council <br />Mayor Linke stated at this time it has not been discussed. Due to limited funding, he was assuming the <br />council would serve as the task force. The other members may have different feelings. <br />Ms. Trude stated all of the proposals that the city received did recommend public support as there are a <br />lot of different potential users. Every user has a different perspective and a different way of looking at <br />something. The city will need to work with the business community also as it will be out in front of <br />the storefronts. The council has not had an opportunity to really discuss this, but it will be put on a <br />future agenda. <br />2. Consideration of Resolution No. 4842, Awarding the Contract to BRW, Inc. for the <br />Engineering, <br />Design and Inspection Services Related to the Construction of the Pedestrian Bridge Over <br />Highway <br />10. <br />Mayor Linke explained that he recently changed employers and he currently works for BRW Elness <br />Architects. This is a completely separate company, with their own Board of Directors. There is no <br />conflict of interest with this contract. <br />Ms. Trude noted that the panel recommended that the award be contracted to BRW, Inc. in April, prior <br />to Mayor Linke's employment with BRW Elness Architects. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Trude to approve Resolution 4842, Awarding the Contract to BRW, Inc. <br />for the Engineering, Design and Inspection Services Related tot he Construction of the Pedestrian <br />fridge Over Highway 10. <br />VOTE: 3 ayes 1 nay Motion Carried <br />(Blanchard) <br />4. Consideration of Resolution 4844, Directing Staff to Coordinate in Conjunction with the <br />Pedestrian <br />Bridge Project the Removal of the Storm Water Detention Fond at the Northwest Corner of Highway <br />10 and Long Lake Road. <br />Ms. Trude explained that the architects who came out to the site felt a better proposal could be put <br />together if the fenced pond in front of Bridgemans could be eliminated. The council has directed staff <br />to investigate this. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Quick to approve Resolution No. 4844, Directing Staff to Coordinate in <br />Conjunction with the Pedestrian Bridge Project the Removal of the Storm Water Detention Pond at the <br />Northwest Comer of Highway 10 and Long Lake Road. <br />VOTE: 3 ayes 1 nay (Blanchard} Motion Carried <br />• <br />
