Tot Lot Equipment Next C�issioners received an updated list of new playground equipment punhased in 1973 and 1974. In additio� a brief rundo�en on tot lot design was held us3ng the city hall plan as an exaaple. Co�issioner Coplin pointed out that too much design resulted in a antiSzptic tot lot--resulting in no imaginative, creative play by children. The Director acknowledged and pledged that all tot lots would not be designed the same or so highly organized. He stated that the site has much to do with the type of design and equipment used, never losing sight of the maintenance responsi- bilities. Chairman Peterson requested that a design and breakdown on each tot lot be presented at the next regular session. Park Titles A brief report ensued on the "Name a Park" contest for the new park site at the corner of Silver Lake Roaland County Road H2. The Director rpesented Co�issioners with a flyer which was handed out to all elementary age children at Red Oak, Pinewood, and Simnyside Elementary Schools. He noted that entries had to be from Mounds View residents only and that the deadline was April lOth. Site Plans The Director reported on the site plan agenda item. Bryant pointed art that 51,000 had been budgeted for professional and consultant fees. He continued by recomoending that $400 to 5500 be spent on park site plans. He felt this would be a very worthwhile expendi- turn used to help co�issioners and the director in city presenta- tions and to pr�ote the development of the park system. Bryant added that the local high schools and colleges should be contacted to get a capable draftsman to do these site plans, therefor� cutting down the costs involved. Council�an Bau■gartner though it would be worthwhile to call Iron- dale Nigh School and see if there would be anyone interested. Motion by Co�issioner Haake and seconded by Co�issioner Wndquist to pursue contacting qualified people to develop site plans a minimal costs. The sotion passed unanimously.
