_} May 10, 1976 .
Pinewood Elementary School - 4.S acres - developeA
Pinewood Elementary School is located at County Road I and Quinay Street.
The site presently has a major school complex, 3 ball fields, playground
aqpara[us and one riard court surface.
There has been no major water problem at Pinewood to our knowledge.
Red Oak School - 2.0 acres - developed
Red Oalc School is located at Red Oak Drive and Shexwood Roa'. The existing
facilities at'Red Oak include a major school complex, 2 ball fields, some
old playground equipmen[ and one hard court surface. There are no major
water runoff pmblems at Red Oak at this time.
Silver View Park - 16.6 acres - undeveloped (We are in the process of .
acquiring an addi[ional 19 acres)
Silver Yiew Park is located at [he corner of County Road H-2 and Silver
Lake Road. There presen[ly is no development at Silver View except for
ffie 100 community garden lots that have been plowed.
It should be no[ed that staff envisions Silver View to be a major community
park with extensive development in the next five years.
Included in the initial developmen[ plan are 4 ball fields, 2 hockey rinks,
4 tennis cour[s, major parking lot, trailway system and a large multi-
purpose hard eourt surface area.
Woodcrest Park - 2.0 acres - developed
Woodcrest Park is located at the corner of Woodcrest Drive and Silvet
Lake Road. The existing development includea a ligh[ed hockey rink,
tot lot and park shelter building.
Theze are two existing water problems at Woodcrest Park:
1. There is standing wateralmost year round in the open ditch
running alng Silver Lake Road from which staff has received
a number ox complaints in the past from a safety standpoint.
In addition to the potential safety problem, the site is a
breeding area for mosquitoes and is neathetically not pleasing.
2. The entire nor[hwest end of the park ie lowland and atanding
water is a continual problem.
Civic Center Park - 12.9 acrea - developed
Civic Cen[er Park is located at the corner of Higtway 10 and Edgewood Drive.
The exis[ing development wnsists of 2 ball fields, 2 picnic sheltec
buildings, a barbecue area and tot lot.
There is only one water problem nt Civic Center Yark which ie located
jus[ north of the west ball field. Again this acanding water has bee
created because of a low arcn and could be correc[ed through grading and
fill.
