3- <br />Commissioner Haake expressed great need and usefulness <br />for such a comprehensive park and open space plan but <br />also described the vast amount of work and comnunity <br />feedback required for such a plan. <br />Commissioner Linke expressed the need for continuity of <br />such an active and ongoing city-wide park and open space <br />plan. <br />The general concensus was that the Comnission agreed that <br />such a park and open space plan is favorabie. <br />Director Anderson will provide a ti�line and general <br />direction for such a project and will be distributed to <br />Commissioners by the next Comnission meeting. <br />New Business Director Anderson distributed several issues of 6ame Time <br />Inc, advertising equipment and shelters. Special interest <br />was directed to the shelters which were equipped with <br />removable panels which enable shelters to be versatile <br />for picnic or rir.k or meeting facilities. puestions to be <br />pursued are: storage needs> insulxtion and heating. <br />Old Bustness Comnissioner linke inquired about Greenffeld Skating Rink <br />lighting and hockey boards. Uirector Anderson assured the <br />Commissioners that the fixtures anQ boards are ordered and <br />presently being awaited upon. Comnissioner Linke also <br />Tnquired about the White Oak Nomeowner's Association project. <br />Director Rnderson reported that the City Council approved <br />the proposal for pond silt vacuuming and silt dumpin9 on <br />Sttver View Park land. However, city staff will administer <br />the project which will occur in the spring, 1979. <br />Commiss5oner fedor was interested in the effect of the <br />Hillview Park street sweepings on the rink ftooding process. <br />Director Anderson replied that the mixture of Pinewood <br />School's ballfield excess dirt (from leveling) with the <br />street sweepings appare�tly provided a favorable flooding <br />base as the rink ice development is good. <br />Commissioner Kuluvar asked if any word has been heard from <br />Mr. Lamppa in retation to his problem with stray pucks from <br />Woodcrest Park hockey rink. Director Anderson reported tbat <br />the puck protection screen has been ptaced on the boards <br />and Mr. Lamppa has not replied. <br />Staff Report DSrector Anderson suggested that the Decertber Park and <br />Recreation Commission meeting be postponed because of the <br />holiday season. Commissioners agreed. <br />Adjournment Commissioner Fedor made a motion to adjourn the meeting, and <br />was seconded by Commissioner Linke. MotTon carried <br />unanimously.
