Park Policy Survay <br />Page 2 <br />D. Only one community addressed the size of the group as a criteria <br />for picnic or shelter buitding usage. <br />3. Do you have fees that are involved in the reszrvation of your facility? <br />The majority of communities (10 communities) do not charge a fee for <br />the use of City facilities other than far athletic tournaments. <br />Of the 5 remaining communities, 3 are presently contemplating going to <br />a fee system while two are presentty charging for the use of pScnic <br />facilities on a refund basis. <br />It appears tbat the "trend" is to�,�ards "re-examining" the existiny <br />fee structure for park facillties due to increased maintenance and <br />vandalism costs. <br />4. Do you have special fees relating to athletic tournaments? <br />Of the 75 coimnunities surveyed nine did not allow any tournaments at <br />all and the remaining 5::: had a fee schedule ranging from $1.00/team <br />to 5700.00/day. <br />It appears that those communi*_ies issuing permits for tournamsnts have <br />encountered problems and are using the fees as a source of revenue for <br />their deparrr,ent. <br />5. Damage deposits for picnic or park shelter buildings? <br />l. <br />l ' <br />The majority oF the communities (10 cortnunities)�do not charge a deposit <br />or damage fee but 6 of the communities are in the process of reviewing �� <br />their current policy. <br />The fees range from a 570.00 refundable dzmage deposit to a 5100.00 fee. <br />The most innovative schedule was found in Roseville where they charge a <br />graduated scale depending on the grou�'s size: - <br />N of eo le <br />� <br />15 - 25 <br />25 - 50 <br />50 - 100 <br />�oo - �oo <br />300 - 500 <br />500 and up <br />6.
