^ Assists in the preparation of bid specifications. {Water Dept. related). <br />^ Schedules projects to be performed for system maintenance with the Public Works <br />Supervisor. <br />^ Maintains records, prepares reports and other specialized maintenance records of <br />equipment and mechanical equipment. <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES <br />^ Works with other City employees in a cooperative manner to maintain a team effort and also <br />can work effectively alone. <br />^ Performs related duties as apparent or delegated to ensure the successful operation of the <br />Water Department and Public Works Department. <br />^ Maintains ability and knowledge to assist in training of other employees. <br />^ Seiwes on various employee or other committees as assigned. <br />^ Snowptowing duties as assigned. <br />^ Participates in an "On Call" ratatian schedule after 1 year of employment. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br />Education and Experience: <br />a. Graduation from high school diploma or GED equivalent. <br />b. Five(5) years of related experience. <br />c. Must have and retain a class (B) water license. <br />NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />a. Working knowledge of the hazards a1~d safety precautions common to municipal <br />maintenance and repair activities. ~ <br />b. Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment. <br />c. Ability to establish and maintain effective preventive maintenance programs, <br />policies and procedures; Ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion; <br />Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Ability to establish <br />and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, <br />vendors and the public. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />^ Valid State Driver's with CDL and tanker and airbrake endorsement or ability to obtain <br />one. <br />^ Class (B) water license. <br />^ Obtain within 2 years of employment start date a S-D Wastewater Certificate. <br />TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED <br />Motorized vehicles, power hand tools and equipment for repairs and routine maintenance of the <br />municipalities utilities. Testing and calibration of the equipment needed to successfully complete <br />the task. Snow removal equipment of various types. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />• <br />
