POSITION DESCRIPTION <br />Position Title: Lead Utility Worker <br />Department: Public Works <br />Accountable To: Public Works Director <br />Status: Collective Bargaining Unit -Non Exempt <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br />To operate, develop plans and administer maintenance programs; monitor and adjust <br />all operations, administrate and over-see all repairs pertaining to the City's water <br />system. This position will handle and respond to concerns and complaints, maintain <br />safety standards along with records and reports pertaining to the City's water system. <br />Will be responsible for ordering and maintaining the equipment essential to the Water <br />Department. This position will also participate in the Water Department budget <br />processes and to keep abreast of new materials and equipments pertaining to such. <br />This position will act as the Public Works Supervisor in the absence of the Public Works <br />and Parks Supervisors. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />i Works under the supervision of the Public Works Supervisor. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />Oversees repairs to the water distribution system performed by staff or contractors to <br />ensure that they are done in accordance with the City and the Minnesota Department of <br />Health specifications. <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Adjusts, troubleshoots, and monitors SCADA system for the water <br />distribution system for the City of Mounds View, and retains a minimum of <br />a "b" water license for the City to meet state requirements. <br />All pumping records and data required for each well. <br />Operates a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and <br />air-driven tools. <br />Tests, services, and repairs mechanical equipment to the best of his/her <br />knowledge. <br />Inspects, adjusts, and replaces necessary equipment as needed. <br />Follows and conforms to all requirements set by the MDH (Minnesota <br />Department of Health). <br />Maintain a (B) water license or above as required for the municipal system. <br />Orders all chemicals needed to produce the highest water quality. <br />Is involved in yearly budget and C.I.P. (Capital Improvement Plan} for the <br />replacement of materials and equipment. <br />• <br />
