POSITION DESCRIPTION • <br />Position Tit{e: Public Works Maintenance <br />Department: Public Works -Storm Sewer/Surface Water Division <br />Accountable To: Public Works Director <br />Status: Collective Bargaining Unit -Non-Exempt <br />To provide maintenance service and repair to facilities and equipment of the City's <br />Storm Sewec/Surface Water Division of the Public Works Department, and other related <br />facilities as apparent or directed. These tasks may include, but not be limited to: <br />ensure proper operation of the City's storm sewer and surface water facilities (including <br />storm sewer mains, manholes, catch basins, ponds and wetlands), conduct and <br />document inspection, maintain databases, and recommend maintenance programs for <br />the City's storm sewer and surface water systems. Additional related tasks include: <br />vehicle and equipment/repair, equipment operations, and a variety of skilled and <br />unskilled labor tasks within the Public Works Department <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED <br />Works under the general guidance and direction of the Public Works Supervisor. <br />SUPERVISION EXERCISED <br />May supervise seasonal workers as assigned. • <br />ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br />• Manages the City's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Svstem (MS4) permit <br />as mandated by the federal Government. <br />Accesses the needs for the City's Storm Sewer Svstem and recommends <br />changes to the public works supervisor and Public Works Director. <br />• Plans. Organizes and Executes Projects relating to water resource <br />management <br />• Coordinates and informs residents whose properties are effected by storm <br />water protects. <br />• Coordinates with contractors performing work in the city to ensure <br />compliance with erosion and sediment control ordinances <br />• Acts as the City's erosion control inspector <br />• Enforcement of erosion and sediment control ordinances <br />• Maintains regular contact with consultants regarding water resource <br />ro'ects <br />• Assists the Public Works Director in evaluatin the needs for the storm <br />sewer division <br />• Reviews reports, plans and specifications developed for construction <br />programs and advise the Pub{ic Works Director accord~naly. <br />• Ensure the city's municipal operations are environmentaliy friendiy and <br />follow Best Management Practices (BMPs) <br />• <br />
