• Solicit bids/quotes for proiects to be performed throughout the City of <br />Mounds View <br />• Draft staff repots for presentation to the City Council <br />• Inspect storm sewer and surface water facilities and enter data using a <br />computer-based program. <br />• Develop a storm sewer and surface water maintenance program and oversee <br />said program <br />• Administrate all requirements of the City's NPDES (National Pollution Discharge <br />Elimination System) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Permit and the City's <br />Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program. <br />• Operates heavy equipment related to a variety of City programs such as <br />patching, snow plowing, excavating, and other tasks as delegated in a safe and <br />proficient manner. <br />• Operates light equipment including, but not limited to, truck mowers, tractors, <br />sprayers, paint strippers, chain saws, hand tools, and other related equipment in <br />a safe and proficient manner. <br />• Assesses situations or problems and determines workable solution or methods to <br />resolve them with limited supervision. <br />• Makes recommendations to Public Works Supervisor on operating matters of <br />the department including personnel, equipment and work procedures which wil! <br />improve the functioning of the Public Works Department and provide better <br />maintenance and service. <br />• Follows departments! safety regulations and operating procedures that are in <br />compliance with applicable Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Laws and <br />regulations. Also recognizes potential hazards in the work environment and <br />notifies Public Works Supervisor for corrective action. <br />• Purchases operational supplies with responsibility and in accordance with City <br />Purchasing Policy. <br />• Maintains or repairs equipment as apparent or assigned, within knowledgeable <br />limits to ensure vehicles and equipment are in good repair and appearance. <br />• Maintains knowledge of safe handling and application of chemicals used in <br />departmental programs. <br />• Performs manual labor including, but not limited to, lifting, painting, tree trimming, <br />planting, and removal, the use of hand tools, compacting materials with hand or <br />mechanics! equipment. <br />• Keeps City facilities and equipment in a neat and clean order. <br />• Keeps accurate records of time sheets, jab activity sheets, fuel log sheets, <br />vehicle and equipment maintenance reports, water test, as-bunts and other <br />related or required data. <br />• Responds to citizens requests and complaints in a manner consistent with City <br />policies and regulations and promotes and maintains a favorable image of the <br />City through positive community relations. <br />C, <br />
