ast two ears of networking experience. • <br />le y <br />(B} Two year degree from an accredited community college or technical school m <br />civil engineering or related field. <br />(C} Two years of experience using AutoCAD, ARCCAD and ARCVIEW, or <br />equivalent, drafting, map reading, computer entry, construction inspection, <br />surveying, plan and permit review. <br />Desired Qualifications: <br />(A) Previous Information Technology experience in a local government setting. <br />NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES <br />(1) Knowledge of computer network design and administration, and ability to trouble <br />shoot day-to-day problems with a PC network in a fast-paced office environment. <br />(2) Familiarity with computer hardware and software products, and the ability to <br />conduct research on, analyze and make recommendations on options available <br />to improve the City's computer network. <br />(3) Ability to read and understand technical information and the ability to explain and <br />write technical procedures and system information in an easily understood and <br />non-technical manner. <br />(4) Knowledge of Windows NT Server and Windows NT Exchange Server including <br />network management, security, hardware and software needs and reporting. <br />(5) Practical knowledge of how geographic information systems are designed, <br />developed and maintained. • <br />(6) Ability to track and report on the condition of the city's infrastructure by collecting <br />and analyzing data, and by preparing maps and as-built drawings. Ability to use <br />computers to create data bases and prepare reports. <br />(7} Ability to create drawings and maps, either through hand-drafting or <br />computerized techniques; ability to solve basic design problems. <br />(8) Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, grading and <br />drainage plans, floodplain and wetland maps, and to inspect field work for <br />compliance for approved plans and specifications. <br />(9} Ability to assist with surveying, utility locates, traffic counts, and other types of <br />field work. <br />(10)Ability to research and prepare equipment specifications. <br />(11)Ability to maintain accurate records and manage well-organized filing systems. <br />(12)Abifity to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, concise manner. <br />(13)Ability to analyze situations and information, formulate alternatives, and use <br />sound judgment in drawing conclusions and making decisions. Ability to <br />develop a course of action and maintain momentum to reach successful <br />conclusions to assignments within agreed upon time frames and with minimal <br />supervision. <br />(14)Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other staff <br />members, Council and Commission members, citizens, property owners, <br />developers and others. <br />(15) Ability to follow verbal and written instructions <br />(16) Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively deal with difficult or angry <br />• <br />
