• people. <br />SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br />None. <br />TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED <br />Personal computer, including word processing, spreadsheet, data base, CAD, mapping <br />and specialized software; plotter, motor vehicle; telephone; mobile or portable radio; <br />drafting and surveying equipment, pipe locator, engineering calculator, blueprint, copier, <br />fax and other office machines. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br />The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by <br />an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable <br />accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the <br />essential functions. <br />Work is performed in both office and field settings. Hand-eye coordination is necessary <br />to operate drafting instruments, computers, and various pieces of office equipment <br />including plotter, light table, blueprint machine, copier, etc. Field work includes <br />sufficient mobility to navigate natural terrain and construction sites, which may include <br />rough ground. Visual acuity sufficient to evaluate field conditions, construction <br />practices and work done, and plans and drawings is necessary, as is the ability to <br />communicate orally in person and over the telephone. Specific vision abilities include <br />close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the <br />ability to adjust focus. <br />While performing the duties of this jab, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, talk <br />and hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach <br />with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, <br />crouch or crawl. <br />The employee must regularly lift andJor move up to 50 Ibs while doing field work. <br />WORK ENVIRONMENT <br />The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an <br />employee encounters white performing the essential functions and physical demands of <br />this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with <br />disabilities to perform the essential functions. <br />While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in both office and field <br />settings. When in the field, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions, <br />experiencing exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, <br />toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the <br />work environment is usually moderate, but may be high where construction work is <br />underway. <br />• <br />
