Mounds View City Council September 22, 2014 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br /> Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />E. Resolution 8307, Approving the Hire of Brian Beeman to the Position of <br />Business Development Coordinator in the Community Development <br />Department. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane explained the City received 10 applications and interviewed <br />six qualified candidates for the Business Development Coordinator position. A second interview <br />was conducted for the top three candidates. Staff recommended the Council approve the hire of <br />Brian Beeman for the position of Business Development Coordinator in the Community <br />Development Department. It was noted Brian Beeman would begin working with the City of <br />Mounds View on or about September 29th. <br /> <br />Council Member Hull asked why Mr. Beeman would begin at Step 4 on the pay schedule. City <br />Administrator Ericson explained this step represents a level of work experience, while being <br />fully educated and trained. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Mueller questioned how long this position has been vacant. City Administrator <br />Ericson reported this position has been vacant since October 31, 2013. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8307, <br />Approving the Hire of Brian Beeman to the Position of Business Development Coordinator in the <br />Community Development Department. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 3 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Mueller suggested Item J be discussed next. <br /> <br />J. Resolution 8309, Authorizing the Acceptance and Distribution of a Donation <br />from Bethlehem Baptist Church. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson explained staff has been meeting with representatives from <br />Bethlehem Baptist to discuss possible funding opportunities for City programs. He reviewed the <br />list of items that would be funded and recommended the Council authorize the acceptance and <br />distribution of a donation from Bethlehem Baptist Church. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8309, <br />Authorizing the Acceptance and Distribution of a Donation from Bethlehem Baptist Church. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause thanked Bethlehem Baptist for their continued generous support to <br />the community. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Mueller was pleased that Groveland Park would be upgraded along with the streets <br />in 2015. <br />
