Mounds View City Council May 22, 2017 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if MWF does not commit to purchasing these properties by <br />July 30th, would the County would be sticking hard to the six-month timeline? City <br />Administrator Ericson reported this was the case and noted the July 30th date was critical. <br /> <br />Chris Stokka, MWF Properties, understood he would run the risk of the land going back to a <br />public auction after July 30th. However, he understood the next public auction was not scheduled <br />until November. City Attorney Riggs commented on the timing risks within the development <br />and stated the City would continue to work to keep this project moving forward. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned if the only real risk to the City would be the project <br />would not happen. City Attorney Riggs advised this was the case, along with the loss of staff <br />time. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8759, <br />MWF Properties Purchase Option Agreement of Tax Forfeited Parcels as revised. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller reiterated that this was one of the many steps that would have to be taken in order <br />to construct workforce housing along Mounds View Boulevard and Groveland Road. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />E. Resolution 8757, Approving an Adjusted Salary Scale and the Advertisement <br />for the Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector Position. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ericson requested the Council approve an adjusted salary scale and the <br />advertisement for the Housing/Code Enforcement Inspection position. He explained staff would <br />like to fill this position which has been vacant since last August. He reported a salary study was <br />conducted by Springsted for this position in order for the City to determine a proper wage. Staff <br />reviewed the Resolution with the Council noting the wage rate had been adjusted and <br />recommended approval of the advertisement of the position. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller thanked City Administrator Ericson for stepping in and finding assistance for this <br />position. She questioned when this position would be posted. City Administrator Ericson <br />reported the position would be posted on the League of Minnesota Cities and the City website <br />tomorrow, and would be in the newspaper on Sunday. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Bergeron.
