RESOLUTION NO. 8513 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF TWO FORD POLICE INTERCEPTOR UTILITY VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT SETUP COSTS WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department maintains a replacement schedule of police vehicles to ensure that the police department can provide reliable quality service to the community with a dependable fleet of police vehicles and; WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department planned and budgeted for the replacement of two squad cars in 2016 for a total budget of $78,300 to include setup costs of $11,000 for each vehicle with an additional $2000 for the K-9 setup and $2300 for a light bar and; WHEREAS, Nelson Auto Center in Fergus Falls has been awarded the state bid contract for the 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Police Utility vehicle at an approximate cost of $26,315.95 each and equipment setups of $11,190.62 and $12,737.70 and; WHEREAS, the total cost for two Utility vehicles with equipment and setup is $78,550.22 with the additional overage amount of $250.22 to be applied to the police equipment supplies account and; WHEREAS, a 2008 and a 2011 police squad car will be designated for sale at a future auction administered by the Admin Minnesota State Surplus Services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota to authorize the purchase of two 2016 Ford Police Interceptor Utility vehicles, costing $26,315.95 for each vehicle, plus setup costs of $11,190.62 and $12,737.70, graphic costs of $1990, for a total of $78,550.22 and to sell two Ford Crown Victoria squad cars through the Admin Minnesota State Surplus Services Auction.
