ADMINISTRATOR REPORT
Page 2

3. Update on County Road 10 Survey

Business Development Coordinator Brian Beeman sent an email to all businesses
operating on County Road 10 asking for their input on a proposed name change to
Mounds View Boulevard. Brian’s message and a table of responses follows.

Brian’s message:

Dear Mounds View Business Owners,

As you may already know from earlier emails, the City of Mounds View has been meeting with
Ramsey County to rectify the confusion over U.S. Hwy 10 and County Rd 10. Recently, there
has been some headway and MnDOT and Ramsey County may be able to help with the costs
of new signage on 35W in conjunction with the County Road H interchange project (2016) and
the managed lane project (possibly scheduled for 2018, subject to receipt of federal funding. In
the meantime, the Mounds View City Council would like the opinion from business owners
along County Rd 10 in their thoughts of renaming County Rd 10 to “Mounds View Boulevard”.

Please email me your thoughts on the possibility of renaming County Rd 10 to Mounds View
Boulevard by Friday April 15.

Thank you,

Brian Beeman, M.P.A.
Business Development Coordinator

The responses received thus far are shown in the table below. I have asked Brian to
visit with as many businesses that he can to ensure that businesses are aware and that
they’ve had an opportunity to provide feedback.

Business Contact Opinion
Silverview Chiropractic Dr. Greg Belting W ould love to see the change to mounds view blvd--
-- have been an advocate for years!
WIN Insurance Agency George Winiecki What`s wrong with County Road 10? I prefer County
Road 10.
Northwoods Outdoors Clair Martin I don’t have a strong feeling either way. It is a little
problematic currently with GPS unable to guide
people to our location. Confusion between the 2
Hwy 10 has been a bit of problem. I like the sound
of "Mounds View Boulevard”.
Moe’s Jeff Mortiko We would be in favor of Mounds View Boulevard –
the confusion costs us guests on a regular basis.
The amount is tough to quantify however but I can
tell you we have 10-15 guests calling lost per month.
RJ Riches Why don't they just call the new Hwy 10 “610”, why
should mounds view have to change? I don't care
but it’s stupid.
