Mounds View City Council May 9, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br /> <br />were past due. At the time of their conversation, staff informed the owner they had delinquent 1 <br />utility bills. These bills would have to be paid in full before the liquor license renewal could be 2 <br />considered. Staff recommended the Council open the public hearing and continue to the next 3 <br />meeting. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:18 p.m. 6 <br /> 7 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Continue the Public Hearing for the On-Sale 8 <br />Intoxicating Liquor License Renewal for Moe’s located at 2400 County Road 10 to Monday, 9 <br />May 23, 2016. 10 <br /> 11 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 12 <br /> 13 <br />2. Resolution 8569, a Resolution to Consider an On-Sale Intoxicating 14 <br />Liquor License Renewal for The Mermaid, located at 2200 County Road 15 <br />10. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated all liquor licenses expire on June 30th. She reported 18 <br />The Mermaid has submitted all necessary documents and fees for their on-sale intoxicating liquor 19 <br />license. It was noted the liquor license would be contingent upon a satisfactory criminal 20 <br />background check with the BCA and a satisfactory report from the Mounds View Police 21 <br />Department. It was noted a fire inspection has been scheduled for Thursday, June 9th. She 22 <br />indicated all utility bills and property taxes have been paid in full. Staff recommended approval 23 <br />of the liquor license for The Mermaid, subject to a satisfactory criminal background check, fire 24 <br />inspection and report from the Police Department. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. 29 <br /> 30 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8569, a 31 <br />Resolution to Consider an On-Sale Intoxicating Liquor License Renewal for The Mermaid, 32 <br />located at 2200 County Road 10, contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check, fire 33 <br />inspection and report from the Police Department. 34 <br /> 35 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 36 <br /> 37 <br />3. Resolution 8570, a Resolution to Consider an On-Sale Intoxicating 38 <br />Liquor License Renewal for El Loro, located at 2535 County Road 10. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated all liquor licenses expire on June 30th. She reported El 41 <br />Loro has submitted all necessary documents and fees for their on-sale intoxicating liquor license. 42 <br />It was noted the liquor license would be contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background 43 <br />check with the BCA and a satisfactory report from the Mounds View Police Department.
