light of the fact that there are several individuals here for one or both of these public hearings. <br /> 8. REQUESTS AND COMMENTS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> Anthony Zuk, 5671 Quincy Street. Mr. Zuk stated his appreciation for fixing Quincy Street. <br /> Mr. Zuk stated it has been about five years since that street has been repaired. Mr. Zuk stated he <br /> called Monday, kids were playing in the snow banks back there and people thought it was funny <br /> to go through that puddle at about 50 miles an hour and splash the kids. Mr. Zuk stated this <br /> happened to his son. Mr. Zuk thanks the Mayor for getting Public Works for getting that project <br /> done. <br /> Mr. Zuk stated Oakwood Park, regarding the trails behind Oakwood Park. The kids have jumps <br /> back there that they use their bicycles. Mr. Zuk has found empty beer bottles, and empty liquor <br /> bottles. There is also matches around there and there are cigarette packages. Mr. Zuk expressed 11 <br /> a fear of his son going back there without supervision, he is 6-years-old. Mr. Zuk stated the <br /> police department should have a walking beat, or park their cars and walk over there. Mr. Zuk <br /> stated there is graffiti on the playgrounds, too, and Mr. Zuk's son is learning the phonics, and <br /> sees these words. <br /> Mr. Zuk stated on the trail walk behind Oakwood out to Greenfield Park there is a bridge across <br /> the creek there. The cables that support the bridge on the sides are all down and that could very <br /> much be a hazard. There is also graffiti on there, too. Mr. Zuk stated this needs to be repaired, <br /> and this also should have been policed. Mr. Zuk stated there are matches, empty beer cans, and <br /> liquor bottles there,too. Mr. Zuk stated he thinks the police could pass on to the Chief they <br /> might want to walk through the area instead of sitting on Long Lake radaring, or on County Road <br /> I radaring. <br /> Mayor Coughlin stated the police do their utmost to try to balance things out, it is difficult to <br /> coordinate this, and Mayor Coughlin offers "hats off'to the police who are doing a wonderful <br /> job. <br /> Mr. Marty would like to add, if you have a question or concern about the roads and streets, <br /> instead of calling the Mayor or Council Member, call Public Works. This is one of the things we t <br /> start talking about. If you have a street concern, get a hold of Mike or somebody over to get it <br /> taken care of. <br /> (Mike) responds to Mr. Zuk's comments. There was a sanitary sewer repair made in that area <br /> about three, four, maybe even five years ago and there was a sleeve put in that eliminated us <br /> from excavating the entire site and putting a new piece of concrete pipe in. That sleeve started to <br /> fail late this winter and when the comment was received from Council, it was checked that night, <br /> the next day I asked one of the sewer employees to go up and check that. That particular <br /> operator also operates the snowplow in that area, he said he noticed there was a sink hole <br /> developing in that area the last time he plowed it, which was about a week ago.
