RESOLUTION 5325 <br /> CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> SEVERANCE PLAN/PROGRAM FOR CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW BUILDING <br /> OFFICIAL DISPLACED BY THE OUTSOURCING OF THE CITY <br /> BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES <br /> WHEREAS, the City will be outsourcing building inspection services and the position of <br /> Building Official in the City; and <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Mounds View is eliminating the position of Building Official for <br /> budgetary reasons; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City will incur substantial budgetary savings through the outsourcing of <br /> building inspection services and the position of Building Official in the City; and <br /> WHEREAS,the elimination of this position will result in the displacement of one City <br /> employee; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the City to offer such employee a severance benefits <br /> package consistent with the City Code, City Administrative Policies, and state and federal <br /> statutes; and <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes contemplate that such severance benefits package be <br /> instituted at the discretion of the City Council, subject to certain funding requirements. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Mounds <br /> View determines that it is in the interest of the City to offer the following terms and conditions <br /> for a severance benfits package to the employee displace by the elimination of the Building <br /> Official position: <br /> 1. Payment of severance in the amount of one week of the employee's annual salary for <br /> every year of the employee's service to the City; and <br /> 2. Payment of unused vacation and sick leave in an amount equal to the full amount <br /> available of the employee's unused vacation leave at the employee's time of departure from City <br /> service, and 50% of the employee's amount of accumulated sick leave at the employee's time of <br /> departure from the City; and <br /> 3. Payment by the City of an amount equivalent to six months of the City's standard <br /> contribution normally paid for an employee's health insurance premiums; and <br />
