Mn/DOT Metro W .E . TEL :612-582-1368 Apr 23 98 10 : 18 No .004 P .04
Rick Jopke
April 22, 1998
page three
With the storiwa.ter drainage permit, we require hydraulic computations and drainage
area maps, showing existing and proposed conditions and addressing 100-year storms.
Existing drainage patterns and rates of runoff affecting Mn/DOT right of way should be
perpetuated, The site's storm water discharge rate must not increase, We arc concerned
that the proposed north holding pond on the future restaurant site has no outlet. Please
contact Brett Troyer of our Water Resources Engineering Section at 779-5052 with
questions regarding Mn/DOT drainage concerns.
• We will not allow the proposed sidewalk between the restaurant site and movie theater
site within TH. 10 right of way.
l:dgewood Drive Relocation Under the Current Proposal
• Tf Edgewood Drive is still to be relocated on the north side, we will require the relocated
access to be a right-in/right-out only access with no median crossover. This relocation
will also require a Mn/DOT access permit,
It is increasingly important that we effectively manage the region's highways, Safety and
congestion problems are many, and solutions are more difficult and costly to implement. We
prefer to work in partnership with landowners and the City to prevent problems before they
occur. Mn/DOT's ability to promote safe and efficient traffic flow on the highway is
compromised without the cooperation of local governments in the land development process. It
is our desire to work with you to manage the highway system effectively.
Please contact me at 582-1654 with any questions regarding this review.
Sincerely,
Scott Peters
Senior Transportation Planner/Local Government Liaison
c: Dan Soler,Ramsey County Traffic Engineer
Glen Van Wormer, SET-
Ann Braden, Metropolitan Council Transportation
