MIS Committee Meetings Wednesday, January 21, 1998 1:30pm In Attendance: Tim Ericson, Jim Hess, Tracy Juell, Bruce Kessel, Pat Toth, Chuck Whiting Absent: Bob Nelson Also Present: Tracy Sanchez Jim H. stated that Pat Toth is now a member of the committee, replacing Mary Johnson who has withdrawn from the committee. A comment was made that because Bob Nelson is not always available to attend the meetings, maybe we should consider recruiting another person from the Police Department(Pat Michna or Tim Brennan). Tracy S. will speak to the Tim Ramacher. Tracy S. inquired on the idea of contracting a maintenance person for the printers. Jim H. has an updated list of the printers within the City and will give it to Pat so that he may search the web and look for patches and upgrades for the future. Tracy J. will obtain the state bids for the company that has the printer maintenance contract and the fees. Tracy J. will give this information to Tracy S. so that she may compare the costs with other private companies. Chuck asked Tracy S. to provide him with the finalized version of the Users Policy so he may sign. Tracy S. will then supply all of the individual computer users within the City, a copy of the Users Policy and have the employees sign it, acknowledging that there is an existing policy and that employees will need to follow it. (Thank you Mary for the past help in composing the policy.) Jim H. stated everyone now has an e-mail address via the Internet and he will be issuing individual e-mail addresses to everyone. Tim E. recommended to utilize Eudora Light e-mail software which can be downloaded from the Internet and is FREE. Both Jim E. and Pat have used the software and like the features.
