INFORMATION <br /> ONLY <br /> 1 A bill for an act <br /> 2 relating to the metropolitan council ; establishing <br /> 3 corridor planning pilot projects; appropriating money. <br /> 4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> 5 Section 1 . [CORRIDOR PLANNING PILOT PROJECTS . ] <br /> 6 Subdivision 1. [PILOT PROJECTS . ] The metropolitan council <br /> 7 shall establish corridor planning pilot projects for the highway <br /> 11,1 CC l'Y ci <br /> 8 61 south, and I-35W north corridor A "corridor plan" is a <br /> 9 sub-regional, multi-jurisdictional comprehensive plan for the <br /> 10 area along a major transportation corridor through two or more <br /> 11 municipalities . A corridor plan implements the regional goals <br /> 12 established by the metropolitan council in its metropolitan <br /> 13 development guide by, among other things : <br /> 14 ( 1) making use of shared geographic information systems , as <br /> 15 they are developed; <br /> 16 (2) establishing a framework for a comprehensive livable <br /> 17 community urban design; <br /> 18 ( 3) developing strategies for housing, and economic <br /> 19 development and redevelopment, including the cleanup of <br /> 20 contaminated properties . <br /> 21 A corridor plan must be developed by representatives of each of <br /> 22 the municipalities in the corridor, reviewed and approved by the <br /> 23 council , and adopted by each of the participating <br /> 24 municipalities . A local comprehensive plan must be consistent <br /> 1 <br />
