POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY WRITE-UP <br /> POSITION TITLE: Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> DEPARTMENT: Administration/Finance <br /> ACCOUNTABLE TO: City Administrator <br /> PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION <br /> To provide administrative assistance to the City Administrator in <br /> implementing the overall programs and policies of the City Council . <br /> MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY <br /> 1. Assist City Administrator in day-to-day activities as <br /> directed by the City Administrator. <br /> 2 . Assist in the coordination of multi-department activities <br /> to ensure effective working relationships . <br /> 3 . Act as a human resources coordinator for the City with <br /> responsibility for developing and implementing personnel <br /> policies, coordinating new employee hiring, employee <br /> evaluations, participating in labor negotiations and <br /> contract administration, coordinating organization <br /> development and employee training activities, ensuring <br /> Affirmative Action/EOE compliance and administering the <br /> City' s pay equity policies . <br /> 4 . Assist in City' s management information systems <br /> coordination efforts . <br /> 5 . Assist in the preparation of agenda materials for council <br /> meetings and Council minutes . <br /> 6 . Carry out specialized assignments as directed by the City <br /> Administrator and carry them to successful completion. <br /> 7 . Assist the City Administrator in the budget development <br /> process . <br /> 8 . Participate in staff and organization committees and <br /> boards as directed by the City Administrator. <br /> 9 . Work on and complete other administrative assignments at the <br /> direction of the City Administrator. <br />
