PUBLIC SERVICE PROGRAM <br /> MIS Coordination Program Function and Service Standards <br /> The MIS program is responsible for information systems such as computer hardware and software <br /> applications, efficient processing of information, and a coordinated records retention program that is <br /> accurate and proficient. <br /> PROGRAM OBJECTIVES <br /> • <br /> One of the continuous priorities of the City Council is to aid in the City's commitment to stay up-to-date <br /> with new computer and communications technology. The City's ability to quickly, accurately and effec- <br /> • tively process, record and communicate information, as well as provide timely, safe and efficient service <br /> in daily municipal operations, is vital to the livelihood of all residents of Mounds View. <br /> BUDGET IMPACTS <br /> Personnel: <br /> Personnel in this program consist of the following: <br /> • Computer Consultant(Occasionally) <br /> • Administrative Secretary <br /> • "Administrative Employee"-Title Unknown <br /> Due to the possibility of restructuring personnel in specific City departments, the position title of the <br /> 1996 Administrative Intern has not been determined and is listed as"Administrative Employee". <br /> General Expenditures: <br /> It is anticipated that consultant costs will remain the same as 1996 amounts due to in-house training. <br /> General expenditures will increase in 1997 due to the salary increase of the Administrative Employee. <br /> City staff continues to take advantage of the benefits of the computer network by utilizing the system on <br /> a daily basis to meet the City's growing communication and informational needs, but there are numerous <br /> features that are not being utilized that would greatly reduce the amount of time currently used to <br />
