• Chuck and I met with both Everest and V.B. Digs this week. Both projects will be discussed <br /> further as part of the work session agenda. <br /> • I heard a rumor that Paster is working with Braggers Bagels/Caribou Coffee to locate in the <br /> Bridge man's Building. Keep your fingers crossed. <br /> Cathy <br /> PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY <br /> PARKS: <br /> • The crew is continuing aeration of park turf to be followed by fertilizing. Sprinkling heads <br /> are being marked and repaired. Continuation of trash removal, mowing and lining athletic <br /> fields. Projects continue to be worked on as time is available including pulling bushes at <br /> Random, work at Woodcrest,to be followed by a list of projects that haven't begun yet but <br /> are on a"as time allows"basis. Emergency activities always seem to interrupt activities <br /> such as repairing the furnace at Random Park,repair of the swing bench at Silver View <br /> Park,putting up new messages needed on the City marque, etc. <br /> RECREATION: <br /> • The next brochure is underway. Programs for winter are being planned, instructors <br /> recruited and spaces and equipment arranged. Fall programs have begun. There was high <br /> demand for After School Activities. We had to arrange for duplicate classes where the <br /> opportunity was available to accommodate the high numbers of registrations. Special <br /> events are coming soon. <br /> • Bel Rae activities include Karate classes, Senior Exercise, 500 card playing, Bingo, and <br /> children's dance programs. We have had a request for daytime adult line dancing <br /> instruction. A number of groups will be using the Bel Rae including Cross of Glory <br /> Church and Silver View Lake Homeowners Association for annual meetings. A number <br /> of persons have called to inquire rental of the Bel Rae including Garment Graphics, a <br /> entertainment agent and a 50th wedding anniversary party. The Bel Rae is being <br /> considered as a location for a DARE sponsored teen dance. The Mounds View <br /> Community Theater is planning on sponsoring a"Sounds of the Season"musical dinner <br /> performance during the weekends of December. Other special events planned at the Bel <br /> Rae include a Sports and Athletic Equipment Swap, Family Turkey Shoot(games for the <br />
