• Update on those property owners that did not respond to the certified letter sent in the <br /> middle of May regarding the trouble shooting and repairs of the defective MIUs. <br /> • On Monday, June 10, letters were sent(by reg. mail) to 14 property owners explaining that <br /> they were in direct violation of the City Code by not allowing the city to perform the <br /> needed maintenance on the defective MIUs and to please schedule a time on Friday, June <br /> 14 otherwise their water would be shut off on June 18. (9)property owners scheduled a <br /> time on June 14. In the morning of Monday, June 18, Bill Hanggi located the water shut <br /> offs for each of those properties, and at noon was instructed to shut water off if the owners <br /> did not contact this office to schedule a time. All property owners contacted Mike,that <br /> morning, and scheduled a time to have the repair completed. (Ed Wygert, WaterPro, and <br /> our Water Department did the trouble shooting and the repairs.) Some property owners <br /> explained to Mike that they did not appreciate this "final"warning provided by Bill. <br /> • Via the Pavement Management Program, certain streets were chosen to slurry seal this <br /> year. Approximately 90,000 square yards! NOTE: Many streets were determined to have <br /> this sealing done just to "hold them together" - they have not been sealed in over 10 years. <br /> Tracy <br /> POLICE <br /> • Roger Koopmeiners submitted his resignation effective 07-31-96. I will be meeting with <br /> the Civil Service Commission soon to discuss what we are going to do. <br /> • We have a new Ford squad car on the road. The graffix design is a little different. We will <br /> be converting our new chev in a couple of weeks. <br /> • GOOD NEWS!!! Mike Kampa is back to work. Mike is our field training officer and will <br /> spend the next few months training the "new guys". <br /> • Terry Broos and Dave Brick preformed CPR on a 78 yr old male who collapsed while <br /> mowing his lawn. Both officers rode in the ambulance to the hospital. When they arrived at <br /> the hospital,the man was breathing and had a pulse. The man died the next day,but it was <br /> a great job by the officers. <br /> • A COPS meetingwas held on Tuesday. Job assignments and what were doingin the next <br /> Y g <br /> couple of months were the main topics. <br /> • WE DO EVERYTHING The Police were called to respond to a turtle crossing the <br /> road. <br />
