in the maintenance of sprinkler systems and the repair and installation of sprinkler lines and heads. <br /> 411)Prepares and maintains daily, monthly, and annual reports and records; produces a variety of studies and <br /> related information for decision-making purposes, as assigned. <br /> Evaluates the upkeep of the golf course, making recommendations and providing advise to the Director of <br /> Parks,Recreation and Forestry on matters that would improve the functioning of the course or provide better <br /> service to the patrons; improves work methods to accomplish assigned work. <br /> Manages and supervises assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes <br /> work schedules, workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned maintenance <br /> workers, part-time or temporary employees, or volunteer/community service workers; reviews progress and <br /> directs changes as needed. <br /> Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans; gathers, interprets, and <br /> prepares data for studies, reports.and recommendations; coordinates department activities with other <br /> departments and agencies as needed. <br /> Communicates official plans, policies and procedures to staff and the general public in assigned area of <br /> responsibility. <br /> Determines and standardizes efficient and effective work procedures and operations. <br /> •Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and <br /> conformance to policies and procedures. <br /> Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances; performs or assists subordinates in performing <br /> duties; adjusts errors and complaints. <br /> Coordinates maintenance and construction activities with clubhouse staff to assure continual smooth operation <br /> of the golf course. <br /> Provides necessary coordination, supervision, direction, and assistance to crews at work sites; enforces <br /> policies, regulations, and safety and health standards. <br /> Actively promotes use of the area and facilities and makes presentations to supervisors, boards, commissions, <br /> civic groups and the general public. <br /> Responds to public inquiries; provides information within scope of knowledge and position. <br /> PERIPHERAL DUTIES <br /> Performs some or all of the duties of a Golf Course Maintenance Worker, as required. <br /> Maintains and adjusts specialized turf care equipment and tools, including electric motors, pumps, sprinklers, <br /> 0 ractors, mowers, and irrigation systems. <br /> Opens and closes facilities as needed. <br />
