Mounds View City Council July 11, 2016 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br />Council waive the Second Reading and Adopt an Ordinance allowing the City to opt out of 1 <br />legislation which regulates temporary family health care dwellings. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:05 p.m. 6 <br /> 7 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Second Reading and Adopt 8 <br />Ordinance 921, an Ordinance Opting Out of the Requirements of Minnesota Statutes §462.3593, 9 <br />which Defines and Regulates Temporary Family Health Care Dwellings. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Mayor Flaherty understood the State’s intent behind this legislation but believed this matter 12 <br />would be better managed by the City. 13 <br /> 14 <br />ROLL CALL: Gunn/Hull/Meehlhause/Mueller/ Flaherty. 15 <br /> 16 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 17 <br /> 18 <br />B. Resolution 8603, Approving the 2016 Festival in the Park of Mounds View 19 <br />Contract. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated Festival in the Park was scheduled for Saturday, 22 <br />August 20th. It was noted the City had donated $9,500 of in kind donations for the festival. She 23 <br />requested the Council approve the 2016 Festival in the Park Contract. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council Member Mueller thanked staff for including the list of services that would be provided 26 <br />by the Public Works Department. 27 <br /> 28 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8603, 29 <br />Approving the 2016 Festival in the Park of Mounds View Contract. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 32 <br /> 33 <br />C. Resolution 8604, Approving a Revised Job Description and Advertise for the 34 <br />Police Records/Evidence Technician in the Mounds View Police Department. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane reported Kathy Bednar would be retiring from the Mounds 37 <br />View Police Department on September 30th. She requested the Council approve a revised job 38 <br />description and allow staff to advertise for the police records/evidence technician for the Mounds 39 <br />View Police Department. If approved, the position would be advertised on July 12th in hopes of 40 <br />having an individual hired by mid-September. 41 <br /> 42 <br />Mayor Flaherty asked if one or two weeks of training would be sufficient for the new employee. 43 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane explained she discussed this matter with the Deputy Police 44 <br />Chief and he believed this would be an adequate amount of time. 45
