9 <br /> <br />known drug user and K9 Niko was sent back inside for a narcotics search and located hidden <br />narcotics in the garage. <br /> <br />In August, here are the deployments: <br /> <br /> 2 area searches and suspect tracks <br /> 1 for an arrest <br /> <br />On August 4th, the K9 team attended numerous block parties for National Night Out. <br />Residents were able to meet with Niko and learn what the K-9 team does for the Mounds <br />View Police Department. <br /> <br />On August 13th, the K9 team responded to a home where the homeowner reported two males <br />had rushed into his house. They both fled out the back door of the home on foot. Officers <br />tracked the suspects and both males were located and arrested with the assist of K9 Niko. <br /> <br />August 22nd was the day of Festival in the Park. This is the largest demonstration that our K9 <br />unit performs throughout the year. There were over 100 people who attended and watched <br />our officers and K9 unit working together in various aspects of apprehension techniques. <br />People who attended the demonstration also had the opportunity to meet with K9 Niko. <br /> <br />In September, here are the deployments: <br /> <br /> 3 area searches and suspect tracks <br /> 1 narcotics search <br /> <br />On September 24th, the K9 Unit gave a demonstration for our DNR Hunter Safety Course. <br /> <br />On September 26th, the K9 Unit was invited to the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire <br />Department Open House for a K9 demonstration held at station #1.
