<br />Item No: 08F <br />Meeting Date: December 14, 2015 <br />Type of Business: CA <br />Administrator Review : ____ <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Desaree Crane, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 8496, Approving Severance for Officer Andrew <br />Ronning of the Mounds View Police Department <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Andrew Ronning submitted his resignation as a police officer, and his last day of employment <br />was on November 25, 2015. Attached is Resolution 8496, which authorizes severance to <br />Andrew Ronning in accordance with the LELS Local 204 Labor Agreement. In accordance <br />with Article 23.1 (A) of the current labor agreement: <br /> <br />Upon Separation from employment with the City, employees with less <br />than twenty (20) years of service and leave in good standing will <br />receive a lump-sum taxable severance compensation for all accrued <br />vacation and compensatory time. <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Resolution 8496 provides a payout of Andrew Ronning s accrued/unused vacation time. In <br />accordance with Article 23.1, Andrew Ronning is authorized a vacation time payout totaling <br />$867.21. This is calculated as 36.30 accrued/unused vacation hours times his hourly rate of <br />$23.89. <br /> <br />Resolution 8496 also provides a payout of Andrew Ronning’s compensatory time. In <br />according with Article 23.1, Andrew Ronning is authorized a compensatory time pay out <br />totaling $83.62. This is calculated as 3.50 compensatory hours times his hourly rate of <br />$23.89. <br /> <br />In accordance with the LELS Local 204 Labor Agreement, Andrew Ronning is not eligible for <br />a sick time severance payout. <br /> <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends approving Resolution 8496 in accordance with Article 23.1 of the LELS <br />Local 204 Labor Agreement. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br />_______________________ <br />Desaree Crane <br />
