Mounds View City Council March 11, 2013 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Meehlhause requested further background information on the recommended 2 <br />officers. Police Chief Kinney indicated Mr. Demko was a part-time licensed police officer in 3 <br />another department. It was noted Mr. Smith was a security officer for a metropolitan college 4 <br />campus and has no law enforcement background. He stated Mr. Schultes was a reserve officer 5 <br />with a metropolitan police department and noted all three candidates have a bachelor’s degree in 6 <br />Criminal Justice. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Mueller questioned who would be training in the new recruits. Police Chief 9 <br />Kinney explained that various officers in the department have attended Field Training Officer 10 <br />(FTO) training to become certified instructors. He indicated both Sergeants were both FTO 11 <br />certified. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Mayor Flaherty wished Officers Olson and Neumann well in their future endeavors. He then 14 <br />thanked Sergeant Nelson for his 28 years of dedicated service to the City of Mounds View. 15 <br /> 16 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. Resolution 8069, Approving a Step Wage Adjustment for Agnes Quasabart, 22 <br />Accountant and Longevity Wage Adjustments for Officer Keckeisen and 23 <br />Officer Leitch of the Mounds View Police Department. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Assistant City Administrator Crane stated that Agnes Quasabart is a current employee with the 26 <br />Finance Department and after a recent performance evaluation by Finance Director Beer her 27 <br />work was found to be satisfactory. Police Officer Keckeisen was recently evaluated by Deputy 28 <br />Chief Menard and his performance was found to be satisfactory. In addition, Police Officer 29 <br />Leitch was also evaluated by Sergeant Bob Nelson and his performance was found to be 30 <br />satisfactory. Staff recommended a wage step adjustment for Accountant Agnes Quasabart and 31 <br />Police Officers Keckeisen and Leitch as presented. 32 <br /> 33 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause.
