Finally, Officer Nelson was due a 2 compensatory time payout of $1,437.58 to his retirement health savings plan. Staff recommends 3 approval of the severance not to exceed $48,981.10 into Officer Nelson’s retirement health 4 savings plan. 5 6 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 8070, 7 Approving Severance for Sergeant Robert Nelson of the Mounds View Police Department. 8 9 Council Member Mueller thanked Officer Nelson for his outstanding service to the community. 10 She wished him well in his retirement. 11 12 Mayor Flaherty requested information on the City’s new sick pay standards. City Administrator 13 Ericson indicated the sick pay hours have now been capped and apply to all new hires. 14 15 Mayor Flaherty commented the Council did not budget for this expense. He questioned where 16 the funds would come from for this expense. City Administrator Ericson stated the expense 17 could come out of LGA funds. Resolution 8071, Appointing Brett Brisbois to a Vacant Maintenance Worker 22 (Stormwater) Position in the Public Works Department. 23 24 Assistant City Administrator Crane stated on February 25th the Council authorized the hire of a 25 Public Works stormwater maintenance worker. She indicated a promotion was completed from 26 within the Public Works Department for Brett Brisbois. Staff recommended the Council 27 authorize the recommended appointment. 28 29 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. Resolution 8072, Approving a Revised Position Description and Authorizing 36 Advertisement for Rehiring a Maintenance Worker (Drinking Water) in the 37 Public Works Department. 38 39 Public Works Director DeBar indicated with the appointment of Brett Brisbois to the vacant 40 stormwater maintenance worker position, the Public Works Department now had a vacancy for a 41 drinking water maintenance worker. He discussed revisions within the job description in detail 42 noting a pay change would not be required. It was noted the posting would be made internally 43 for five days, after which time the position would be posted with the League of Minnesota Cities. 44 Staff requested the Council approve a revised position description and authorize advertisement 45
