He indicated over 500 residents were affected 1 by the lack of a sound wall in this area. He was pleased with the reception of his comments. 2 3 Mayor Flaherty indicated the City now has a K-9 unit, an all-black German shepherd that was 22 4 months old. The department was working on naming the dog and he would be introduced to the 5 public at the Town Hall meeting in April. 6 7 Council Member Mueller commented read an article recently noting the City of New Hope also 8 supported the no change to the fiscal disparities program. 9 10 Council Member Mueller discussed an article in the Star Tribune regarding tax forfeiture 11 properties being at an all time high. She encouraged the Council to read this article. She thanked 12 Kassie Petermann for her recent article on Mounds View resident Jerry Skelly. 13 14 Mayor Flaherty stated this article was available in the February 23rd Sun Focus. He was pleased 15 with the tribute to Jerry and Betty Skelly. 16 17 Council Member Mueller noted the Ramsey County Commissioners were discussing the Ramsey 18 County Dispatch System. Proposals were sent out and funding options were being discussed. 19 She explained the City of Mounds View supports the updates. 20 21 Council Member Mueller indicated Jim Miller, with the League of Minnesota Cities, was 22 recently hospitalized. She explained that cards and well wishes could be passed along to the 23 League of Minnesota Cities on his behalf. 24 25 Council Member Mueller commented the next Ramsey County League of Local Government 26 Meeting would be hosted by the City of Mounds View at the Community Center in March. 27 28 Council Member Mueller stated the next Festival in the Park meeting would be held on March 29 20th at 7:00 p.m. Additional volunteers were still needed to organize the event, scheduled for 30 August 18th. 31 32 Council Member Mueller explained the City was seeking volunteers to reestablish the Mounds 33 View Garden Club. In addition, the City would like to create and maintain a Veteran’s Memorial 34 Garden. 35 36 B. Reports of Staff. 37 38 City Administrator Ericson indicated Fire Chief Zikmund applied for several grants through 39 FEMA to assist the Fire Department with additional staffing. He would report back when further 40 information was available. 41 42 City Administrator Ericson stated Heidi Heller met with the new property manager at Kraus 43 Anderson, Deb Goodman. The new property manager was brought up to speed with the City’s 44 concerns. 45
