April 23, 2012, City Council Meeting Minutes. 4 <br /> 5 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Mueller. To Approve the April 23, 2012, City Council meeting 6 <br />minutes as presented. 7 <br /> 8 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 9 <br /> 10 <br />11. REPORTS 11 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Mueller stated on Thursday, May 31st at 7:00 p.m. at the Maplewood City Hall 14 <br />the Ramsey County League of Local Governments would be holding a meeting discussing Law 15 <br />Enforcement in Ramsey County. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Council Member Mueller indicated on June 2nd and 3rd the Discover Aviation Days at the Blaine 18 <br />Airport would take place. She explained a traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall would be present at 19 <br />the event and encouraged all to attend. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Mueller explained last week she attended the graduation of Officer Nick 22 <br />Erickson and K-9 dog Niko. She was pleased with the press coverage at the event and 23 <br />congratulated Officer Erickson on his accomplishments. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council Member Mueller congratulated all 2012 Mounds View graduates. She then reviewed the 26 <br />Music in the Park schedule. It was noted Festival in the Park would be held on August 18th. 27 <br />Volunteers were still needed to assist with the event and she encouraged those interested to 28 <br />contact her. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Council Member Mueller noted the League of Minnesota Cities Conference would be held in 31 <br />Duluth this June 20-22, 2012. She would be attending the conference and was proud to note the 32 <br />Minnesota Women in Government would be hosting an event on Wednesday evening. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Flaherty reported he and staff met with the faith based institutions in the community last 35 <br />week to hold a brainstorming session on how these groups could better meet the needs of the 36 <br />public. He would report back to the Council on future meetings. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Mayor Flaherty indicated the Anoka County Airport was going to hold off indefinitely on 39 <br />resurfacing the east/west runway. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Flaherty commented the piles of dirt outside of Red Oak Estates have been addressed by 42 <br />Mr. Harstad and he appreciated his efforts. The mounds of dirt were reduced considerably and 43 <br />the area was seeded. 44 <br /> 45
