RESOLUTION 7980 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />APPROVING PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT AT LAMBERT PARK <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the playground equipment at Lambert Park is over 20-years old and in <br />need of replacement; and <br />WHEREAS, the playground equipment at Silverview Park was proposed and <br />budgeted to be replaced in 2012, but city staff and the Parks and Recreation and Forestry <br />Commission (Commission) recommend delaying the replacement to 2013 and, instead, <br />replace the playground equipment at Lambert Park in 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground of Golden Valley, Minnesota prepared <br />a proposed playground equipment layout for Lambert Park that includes three playground <br />units (toddler, age 5-12, and swing set), concrete border, and engineered wood fiber media <br />for $72,744.67; and <br />WHEREAS, city staff and the Commission recommend that the City Council approve <br />the proposed playground layout by Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground for said price; and <br />WHEREAS, monies are available in the 2012 Budget for the above said work under <br />the Park Dedication Fund (451-4470-7050). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds <br />View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The playground equipment layout and quote proposal submitted by <br />Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground to furnish and install three playground units, concrete <br />border, and fiber media fill at Lambert Park for $72,744.67 is hereby accepted by the <br />City. <br />2. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed, for and on behalf of the <br />City, to enter into agreement with Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground for said playgound <br />at said price. <br />3. A 5% contingency of $3,650 is approved in the event that additional related or <br />unforeseen work is required to complete the work.
