COUNCIL BUSINESS 2 <br />A. 7:05 p.m. Public Hearing to Consider Resolution 7758, Interim Use Permit 3 <br />for a Temporary Tent at the Mermaid Entertainment Center, 2200 County 4 <br />Road 10. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Planning Associate Heller stated the City received an application for an Interim Use Permit from 7 <br />the Mermaid for a Temporary Tent at the Mermaid Entertainment Center at 2200 County Road 8 <br />10. The Mermaid had received a five year permit for their temporary tent in 2010, but a recent 9 <br />change in ownership has led to this new application. Staff had no objections to the request and 10 <br />recommended the Council approve of the Resolution. 11 <br /> 12 <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:10 p.m. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Flaherty closed the public hearing at 7:10 p.m. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Council Member Mueller questioned how the tent has been used in the past and the intent of how 17 <br />the tent will be used going into the future. Mike Anderson, new owner of The Mermaid, stated 18 <br />the tent plans have not changed and it would be used from April through October for wedding 19 <br />receptions or other corporate events. 20 <br /> 21 <br />Council Member Mueller asked how many people could be seated in the tent area. Dan Hall, 22 <br />representative from The Mermaid explained the tent had the capacity to seat 500 people. 23 <br /> 24 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 7758, an 25 <br />Interim Use Permit for a Temporary Tent at the Mermaid Entertainment Center, 2200 County 26 <br />Road 10. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Mayor Flaherty commented the tent would need to meet all fire codes and be in compliance with 29 <br />all City codes. 30 <br /> 31 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 32 <br /> 33 <br />B. 7:10 p.m. Public Hearing for the Introduction and First Reading of 34 <br />Ordinance 858, Vacating Easements on 2320 County Road 10 and 5260 35 <br />O’Connell Drive (as part of the Coventry Senior Living Development). 36 <br /> 37 <br />Planning Associate Heller indicated Coventry Senior Living was proceeding with a 95 unit senior 38 <br />housing building on County Road 10 south of County Road H2. The site was being replatted to 39 <br />combine the three lots into one. Because of this, the current easements were being vacated and 40 <br />replaced with one easement to streamline the plat. Staff had no objections to the request and 41 <br />recommended the Council hold the first reading and introduce the Ordinance. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Mayor Flaherty opened the public hearing at 7:17 p.m. 44 <br /> 45
