• Golf Course Management
and Operation Contracts
Introduction
The difference between success and failure in a modern golf operation will
hinge on how well managment is able to make sound fiscal decisions.
Properly executed contracts are an intricate part of club operations today.
No longer can management depend on a handshake or other forms of
"gentlemans" agreements to cover the terms of business relationships
between the club and other groups or agencies. Contracts, generally
provide protections to the golf facility, concessionaires, employees and
ultimately to the golf patron.
The articles in this Overview consist of several different types of sample
contracts. They include much diverse topics as managment contracts and
concession agreements. This sampling is not intended to take the place of
consultation with competent legal services. Such services can design and
prepare documents that are specific to the needs and unique characteris-
tics of the individual golf facility. In this way the fiscal document will
contain in precise terms, all of the conditions to which the concerned
parties agree.
•
1
