In the case where an employee works on a designated legal holiday, the <br /> • employee shall receive eight hours straight time or eight hours compensatory time off as <br /> compensation for the holiday and shall receive one and one half(1 %2)time the employee's <br /> normal straight pay for hours worked, unless he/she is receiving call out pay. Regular part-time <br /> employees shall receive pro-rated holiday pay. Exempt employees, who have received prior <br /> approval from their respective department head, who work on one of the holidays listed above <br /> shall receive eight hours straight time pay for the holiday and shall rece?e the employees normal <br /> straight time pay for those hours worked. <br /> Holidays which occur during vacation leave or sick leave shall not be charged against said <br /> vacation or sick leave but shall be charged against holiday leave. Wages shall not be paid for a <br /> holiday to an employee who is on leave of absence without pay the day before the holiday. <br /> Temporary and seasonal employees are excluded from holiday pay. <br /> POLICY: FLEX TIME POLICY <br /> Approved By: Clerk Administrator Section: 2.20 <br /> Effective Date: 1994, 1996, Page: 1 of 2 <br /> • PURPOSE <br /> To establish a consistent method of tracking regularly scheduled work hours and additional non- <br /> regularly scheduled work hours defined for purpose of this policy, as "Flex Time." <br /> I. Flex Time <br /> A. Definition: <br /> 1. Flex time is defined as all hours worked by an exempt employee in excess of <br /> regularly scheduled work hours. <br /> 2. Exempt employees are defined as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act. <br /> 3. Flex Time will be accrued as straight time (1 hour of flex time for 1 hours of <br /> work). <br /> B. Flex Time Use: <br /> 1. Flex time may be used when regularly schedule hours exceed the hours in a <br /> normal work day. Exempt employees are to record additional hours beyond <br /> eighty (80) in the Flex Time category. <br /> 2. Flex time will be allowed to accumulate to a maximum of 200 hours during the <br />• calendar year. <br /> 3. A maximum of 16 hours of Flex Time hours will be allowed to be used in a two <br /> week pay period. It does not have to be used in the pay period earned. <br />
