Editorial Board Meeting Minutes iN FO R IV1ATI 0 N <br /> Monday, September 8, 1997,2:30 pm <br /> Call to Order ONLY <br /> • <br /> Meeting was called to order at 2:30 pm. Present: Mary Johnson,Tracy Sanchez, Dave Brick, Mike <br /> Ulrich, and Chuck Whiting. Absent: Diane Cline <br /> 11. September/October newsletter update:the Irondale High School Football team will be <br /> delivering the newsletter to residents on the evening of Tuesday September 9th. <br /> 111. Monthly meeting date was set for the 2nd Monday of each month at 2:30 pm. Next <br /> meeting is October 13th at 2:30 pm. <br /> IV. The group decided to order plastic bags to stuff the newsletters in,this in case of bad <br /> weather. These bags will be given to the non-profit groups that hand deliver the newsletters so <br /> that they can hang the plastic bag on the door if there looks like bad weather during their <br /> delivery. The bags will only be used by groups if bad weather is forcasted for the delivery date of <br /> the newsletter. <br /> V. All members were asked to compile a list of seasonal articles they need in the upcoming <br /> newsletters and bring this to the next meeting. Mary stated he will come up with a set deadline <br /> schedule for the 1998 newsletters. The deadline for the November/December 1997 newsletter is <br /> Wednesday October IS. The newsletter will go to the printer on Monday October 20. NOTE: the <br /> budget newsletter will be incorporated into the November/December newsletter. • <br /> VI. Went over cost cutting measures for the newsletter. The idea is to get more bang for the <br /> buck. Various other cities newsletters were looked at and discussed. The group decided to cut <br /> paper weight and grade, try changing the font that is used, use smaller headers, and try using less <br /> graphics. The group also decided to stay with the two color print. <br /> VII. Another cost savings that was discussed was to cut the number of newsletters that are <br /> printed. The mailing list of people outside of Mounds View requesting the newsletter will not be <br /> used anymore. People who live outside of Mounds View can request an subscription to have the <br /> newsletter mailed to them. <br /> VIII. The New Resident Guide was discussed. Chuck brought in a lamented map that he <br /> discussed as a possibility for a New Resident Guide. The group decided to have Mary and Tracy <br /> look into developing a concept similar to the map. Also it was discussed that the information in <br /> the guide will be sent around for everyone to check for accuracy. <br /> IX.
