3.
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section:
v 'nv 94-1222WS
STAFF REPORT Report Number:
_
CVr AGENDA SESSION DATE July 5, 1994 Report Date: 6-30-94
DISPOSITION
Item Description: Discussion Regarding Police Department and City Hall Parking Lots
,),\
Administrator's Review/Recommendation:
- No comments to supplement this report L1, L
- Comments attached.
Explanation/Summary (attach supplement sheets as necessary.)
SUMMARY;
Staff, has been working on design of the Police. Dept. parking
lot in the hopes of developing a plan to fit the new and existing
conditions of the buildings, and within a reasonable budget. Jim Hess has
designed and redesigned the facility many times and has now produced a plan
that has addressed the concerns of the party's involved. Included with this
parking lot is an additional site for off street parking on Edgewood Drive,
north of the police drive and south of the water treatment plant. With the
ever increasing need for parking space at city hall, staff concurred that
if feasible, this additional lot should be constructed at the same time.
This would alleviate some congestion at city hall during council meetings
and softball games. Jim is meeting with Steve Campbell from SEH to discuss
any comments or corrections on Wednesday and will have an estimate ready
for Tuesday's work session. It is important to proceed with this project
ASAP, as it directly effects the reconstruction of the ballfield to the
north of the driveway. Funding for this project is suggested to come from
account 100-4270-705 , the Silver Lake Woods account.
Michael Ulrich, Public Works Director
RECOMMENDATION;
