UNAppROVEil <br />1 Mounds View City Council Page Seven <br />2 Regular Meeting July 25, 1994 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 7:15 p.m. Consideration of Request for Conditional Use Permit (oversized accessory building) of Rodney <br />6 Schultz, 5505 Quincy Street <br />7 <br />8 Mayor Linke opened the public hearing for Conditional Use Permit for Rodney Schultz, 5505 <br />9 Quincy Street. <br />10 <br />11 Paul Harrington, Community Development Coordinator, explained that Rodney Schultz had made <br />12 application for a Conditional Use Permit to allow the utilization of an existing 320 square foot <br />13 building on his property as an accessory building following the construction of a new garage on <br />14 the site. Harrington stated that this application meets all requirements of <br />15 the Code. <br />16 <br />17 MOTION/SECOND: Wuori/Trude to Adopt Resolution No. 4605 Approving the <br />18 Request by Rodney Schultz for a Conditional Use Permit to Allow An Oversized Accessory Building at <br />19 5505 Quincy Street <br />20 <br />21 Councilmember Wuori had a concern regarding the setback requirement. <br />22 <br />23 Harrington explained that he talked to the applicant about the setback and the applicant stated that <br />24 the setbacks will be met. <br />25 <br />26 VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />27 <br />28 7:20 p.m. Consideration of Request for Conditional Use Permit (extension) Church Upon the Rock, 7901 <br />29 Red Oak Drive <br />30 <br />31 Paul Harrington, Community Development Coordinator, explained the background of the temporary <br />32 accessory structure that was approved in 1988 which included a five year sunset clause. <br />33 Harrington pointed out that in September of 1993 the Conditional Use Permit was extended to July <br />34 1, 1994. Harrington further explained that, at this time, the applicant is requesting an additional <br />35 extensio <br />36 of two years be granted to allow more time for the Church to access its needs and options in relation to <br />th8lite. Harrington stated that the Conditional Use Permit would be null and void if the property was sold. <br />38 <br />39 Councilmember Blanchard stated that the Council should realize that this resolution is setting a <br />40 precedence for granting extensions of these Conditional Use Permits. Blanchard stated that she felt <br />41 one year would be better. <br />42 <br />43 Councilmember Trude stated that Conditional Use Permits are looked at case by case. Trude <br />44 stated that Church on the Rock is still seeking additional space for expansion. <br />45 <br />46 <br />
