Sundwall is not overly concenred with traffic and she does believe that a park is needed in
6 this area.
7
8 Doubl Blood, 7034 Pleasant View Drive, stated that the west side of the park is all wooded and it would
9 be a good place for a predator to hide. If Onan would let the land be landscaped it would probably be all
10 right. He visits Sunnyside which is three minutes away. Opposed to park.
11
12 Jerry Blanski, 2933 Woodale Drive, stated his concerns about the safety of the children and that this areas
13 is too remote of an area for young children. Blanski sited an experience his child had regarding a
14 predator. Woodale Drive is a dead end street. Blanski stated Woodale is a quiet street and a park would
15 create more traffic. Blanski has a part 3/10 of a mile from his house, another 6/10 of a mile from his
16 house and this one would be 2/10 of a mile from his house. He received notice one week ago. Saarion
17 gave a very good presentation but has had time to prepare her presentation, however, the residents only
18 had one week to make notes and counteract this action. Blanski stated that a park is not needed in this
19 area. Blanski stated that the City has not made an adequate way for residents to get to Silver View Park
20 from Woodale. Has the City tried to build up Woodcrest Park? Mr. Blanski took pictures of Woodcrest
21 Park and said it is a worthless park and stated that there is a drain pipe full of water.
22
2 3 Mayor Linke stated that that is a Ramsey County ditch problem.
24
2 5 Blanski stated that when the City can show him that the City can develop a park different than
26 Woodcrest Park he may consider a park.
27
2 8 Mayor Linke invited Blanski to look at the other
29 neighborhood parks.
30
31 Judy Herbst, used to live across from a park, which was the park in Fridley. Herbst stated she moved
32 away from Fridley to get away from the park activity and that is why she moved to Woodale. Herbst
33 stated her opposition to having a park is that it would interupt the quietness of the neighborhood and that
34 the City should improve the existing parks or build a bridge over Silver Lake Road for access to the other
35 parks.
36
3 7 Brian Amundson, 3048 Woodale Drive, stated he is active in the community and is interested in holding
38 down costs.
