Mounds View City Council
Regular Meeting

UNAPPROVED
Page Fifteen
July 25, 1994
Mr. Mann the playground will not be built on the land but right up to it and it should be a concern that
area residents were told not to use the wells because of the contamination from that yard.

Councilmember Trude asked if a structure were to be built would there be soil borings. Mayor Linke said
soil borings would be done.

Councilemmber Trude stated that the trees are on the other side of Pleasant View.

Mr. Mann stated that the property is virtually enclosed by woods. Mr. Mann stated that there has
never been a comment by anyone who said that it should be rethought out. Would like to hear the
Council say it would rethink this situation.

Mayor Linke stated that there is a time constraint to work with
regarding the grant.

Doris Olson, 7200 Knollwood, stated that she has the only through yard from Knollwood to
Woodale to H. Kids make tracks back there. Boys never found the street until they were 12.
Doesn't want a park. If a fence is put up they will climb it. 4 children were raised on Knollwood
Drive and now there is five kids on the block. Not a group
of kids to use park and around Woodale everyone is retired. There is no use for a park in that area.

Larry Beach, 6951 Knollwood Drive, parked cars near Onan and Medtronic and the people who
park on the street will park in the park and walk to work. Another concern Belisle's lot was
cattails and it was a swamp.

Pete Hanson, 7075 Knollwood, stated his concern of traffic flow on Knollwood and Pleasant View and if
he could get to park on other side of Silver Lake Road he would use that park. People that are there have
to deal with people coming in to use the park.

Jerry Blanski talked to a person directly across from Woodcrest Park and wondered why
Woodcrest Park was not developed and brought up to par. Volleyball park not used. Told there
was no money to do so.
Is grant money available to do so.

Trude stated this grant is a federal grant.

Dan Lindberg,7188 Knollwood, concern about safety, kicked out a squatter camped in his back
yard last year and he already considers it a park.

Mayor Linke closed the public hearing.
