UNAPPROVED <br />1 Mounds View City Council <br />2 Regular Meeting <br />3 <br />Page Twenty -One <br />July 25, 1994 <br />4 <br />5 Orduno stated that a letter should be sent to all persons who signed the petition and sending with <br />6 the letter a copy of the Charter. <br />7 <br />8 Councilmember Trude stated that she is a member of the Charter Commission and <br />9 stated that this petition does not meet the Charter. <br />10 <br />11 Trude stated that the Charter is working on this issue of term limits and the Charter <br />12 Commission has hired an attorney to work on this issue with the Charter <br />13 Commission. Trude stated that a legal opinion has been obtained and a City cannot <br />14 limit the terms of Council persons. Trude stated she is confused as to why this <br />15 petition happened. <br />16 <br />17 MOTION/SECOND: Wuori/Trude to Adopt Resolution No. 4607 Declaring <br />18 Insufficient the Initiative Petition Proposing an Ordinance to Limit the Number of <br />19 Total Terms for Which a Person Could File for the Office of Mayor or City Council <br />20 <br />21 VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />22 <br />23 H. Consideration of Release of Property being Requested by the Everest Group that will be Part of the <br />24 Development of the C. G. Hill Property <br />25 <br />26 Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, stated that our bond counsel was contacted work with <br />27 Everest attornies to make sure that the land in questions was not land involved in the original <br />28 development of the business park in that it would continue to receive Tax Increment Financing. <br />29 Jim O'Meara is comfortable wit hthe fact that after the Development Agreement was executed and <br />30 the supplement that the identified parcels that receive the funding are seperate and apart from the <br />31 parcels listed here. Orduno stated that the release of this land is necessary to move the C. G. Hill <br />32 Project forward. <br />33 <br />34 MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Wuori to Adopt Resolution No. 4608 Authorizing the <br />35 Release of Land from Contract for Private Redevelopment between the City and <br />36 Everest Development Ltd. <br />37 <br />38 VOTE: 4 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />39 <br />40 REPORTS <br />41 <br />42 1.
