DRAFT <br /> Prepares local ordinances, policies and procedures for municipal <br /> recycling and related resource conservation programs. <br /> PERIPHERAL DUTIES <br /> Assists Community Development Coordinator as assigned. <br /> MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Education and Experience: <br /> (A) Graduation from a four-year college or university with a <br /> degree in environmental science, public administration or a closely <br /> related field; and <br /> (B) Experience using Wordperfect, Lotus 123, Pagemaker and <br /> DBase software; and <br /> (C) Any equivalent combination of education and experience. <br /> Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: <br /> (A) Knowledge of solid waste, recycling, and resource <br /> conservation principles, practices, methods and trends; <br /> Considerable knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and <br /> city policies, laws, and regulations affecting recycling <br /> activities; <br /> (B) Skill in operating the listed tools and equipment. <br /> (C) Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, <br /> with employees, consultants, other governmental agency <br /> representatives, City officials and the general public; Ability to <br /> conduct necessary -research and compile comprehensive reports; <br /> Ability to prepare and administer a variety of recycling programs. <br /> DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS <br /> (A) Working toward or have graduate degree in environmental <br /> science, public administration or a closely related field; <br /> (B) Minimum of one year experience related to recycling or <br /> solid waste programs. <br /> SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS <br /> Must possess a valid State driver's license or have the ability to <br /> obtain one prior to employment. <br /> TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED <br /> Personal computer, including word processing, desk top publishing, <br /> spreadsheet, and data base; motor vehicle; phone; fax and copy <br /> machine, calculator. <br /> PHYSICAL DEMANDS <br /> The physical demands described here are representative of those <br /> that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the <br />
