It is still early in this process to tell what <br /> kind of a response we will get. <br /> Streetlight at County Road J and Airport Drive intersection <br /> Great news! The light at this intersection is finally installed. <br /> It was a long, drawn-out affair, but such is life when working <br /> with several governmental jurisdictions at the same time. <br /> Hopefully the users of that intersection will be have better <br /> visibility and be safer as a result of the new light. <br /> Ramsey County Visioning process <br /> On Monday evening (10/17) , I attended a Service Delivery <br /> Committee meeting for the Ramsey County visioning process. This <br /> was the third meeting of this Committee and each time attendance <br /> has been low. As a result of this low attendance, it sounds like <br /> the Committee will be disbanded and the issue will be addressed <br /> by each committee as an 'umbrella issue' , very similar to how we <br /> had umbrella issues during our visioning process. There are two <br /> all-committee meetings scheduled for 11/10 and 12/1 to prepare <br /> the final presentation to the County Board which is scheduled for <br /> 12/8 . <br /> Pay Equity <br /> At last Thursday's metro area personnel group meeting, we learned <br /> that a sex discrimination lawsuit has been filed against the City <br /> of Austin by an Austin City employee. Details of the case are <br /> sketchy, but the employee is a white, male who is challenging the <br /> state pay equity law. I will update you when I learn more. <br /> Tim C. <br /> Business Retention: <br /> • I have met with the following businesses over the past couple weeks for the <br /> retention program. Bauer Welding & Fabrication, Birchwood Realty, Sysco, <br /> Mounds View Animal Hospital, Pink Flower and Clinch-On Products. Currently, <br /> Mounds View has completed 79 interviews. <br />
