* Staff is preparing for the upcoming winter season. Salt quotes have been
requested, and snow removal equipment is being inspected and repaired as
needed.
* Wally, Larry, Bill Hanggi, and Bill Hanson attended a locator seminar this week.
* The irrigation system has been completed throughout the new ballfield and
Police parking lot. Due to the cool weather expected the remainder of the
season, staff will be dormant seeding this project in November. Final grade will
be prepared as weather permits, and sod placed around sprinkler heads and
edges of the curb and street.
Mike
COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT
NORTHRIDGE VILLAS UPDATE
Construction on the Northridge Villa condominiums located on Highway 10 west of
Silver Lake Road continues to move along at a rapid pace. The Developer has
installed utilities, roadways and has begun work on the Condominiums themselves.
It is anticipated that the project will be completed in early 1995. Staff has already
received a number of calls from parties interested in purchasing a property.
MINNESOTA STATE PLANNING CONFERENCE
I attended the Minnesota State Planning Conference in Brainerd the 6th and 7th of
October. Two of the more informative sessions held at the Conference dealt with
development fees and their applicability to current projects. These fees would be
in addition to already established charges and would give the City a better chance
to recoup costs associated with the development.
Also at the Conference, I served as moderator for two sessions. It was nice to be
involved in the program and afforded me the opportunity to meet with a large
number of professionals with very diverse backgrounds and experience.
Paul
