AUGUST <br /> * Meeting of MAC's Airport Advisory Committee. The issue of <br /> the proposed air traffic control tower appears to be moving <br /> at the speed of a bullet <br /> * Letters opposing the air traffic control tower were sent to <br /> Congressional representatives <br /> * Vacation month came with a vengeance as many staff began summer <br /> vacations. <br /> * Bruce Vento sponsored a area-wide meeting to discuss the <br /> reutilization of the TCAAP site. Julie Trude, Diane Wuori <br /> and I attended. <br /> * MAC's Airport Advisory Committee met. City informed that federal <br /> funding for tower was approved. MAC agreed to a public meeting <br /> in Mounds View to discuss their plans for the airport. <br /> * Charter Commission submitted language for an amendment to the <br /> City Charter limiting the terms for City Council members <br /> * Staff continues to work with Wolf and Associates regarding noise <br /> abatement problems. <br /> * Discussions continue regarding Wolf and Associates' plans to <br /> expand their current facility. <br /> September <br /> * Second meeting of Woodlawn Apartment Committee, more residents <br /> attended. Some progress from management. <br /> * Met with Charlie and Dan Hall regarding a possible hotel and <br /> banquet facility on their present site. Request was made to <br /> staff to obtain information regarding the Vandals Heights hotel <br /> proposal. <br /> * Met with representatives from Minnesota Housing Finance Agency <br /> to indicate City support for the tax credits necessary for the <br /> project. MHFA granted the project the highest amount of tax <br /> credits in history for a senior housing project, $250, 000/year <br /> for 10 years. <br /> * Attended ICMA Conference <br /> * State primary election conducted and preparations began for the <br /> November election <br />
