CM OF <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION Agenda Section: 13. <br /> 111103 STAFF REPORT Report Number: 94-1-194ws <br /> O W AGENDA SESSION DATE DECEMBER 5. 1994 Report Date: 12-1-94 <br /> DISPOSITION <br /> Item Description: <br /> ADMINISTRATION — THIRD QUARTER REPORT <br /> Administrator's Review/Recommendation: <br /> - No comments to supplement this report <br /> - Comments attached. <br /> 1994 Third Quarter Report <br /> Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> PERSONNEL <br /> EMPLOYMENT ACTIVITY <br /> During the third quarter of this year, a Public Works Maintenance Worker was <br /> terminated. <br /> An advertisement was placed in various publications to fill this Public Works position. <br /> Staff screened applications, conducted interviews and brought a recommendation to <br /> Council for consideration. A new employee was hired at the 11/14 Council meeting. <br /> In October, Council authorized staff to begin the process of filling the vacant <br /> Recycling Intern position. At the November 29 Council meeting, a new employee was <br /> appointed to fill this position. <br /> Council authorized staff to contract with a secretarial company to record official City <br /> minutes at Council meetings. In October, TimeSavers Off-Site Secretarial began <br /> recording Council minutes. <br /> The biannual affirmative action plan was submitted to the Minnesota Department of <br /> Human Rights for compliance. <br /> POLICY DEVELOPMENT <br /> The Administrative Policy Manual has been organized with proposed and existing <br /> policies and distributed to Department Heads for review and feedback. The goal is to <br /> have an organized, comprehensive manual that :s bound in three hole binders for each <br /> employee to have available for reference, and that is easy to update. <br />
